KILLALOE RIVER CRUISES

We provide tours of the River Shannon and Lough Derg. A commentary is provided on all interesting sites as you cruise by. Relax and unwind taking in the breath-taking scenery along the iconic River Shannon.

Our purpose-built passenger boat offers two decks to maximise your opportunity to take in the natural charm of Killaloe and Ballina. The upper deck has seating for all passengers. The lower deck is fully heated with large panoramic windows for a great view. Relax with an Irish Coffee or one of many drinks served at our bar.

Killaloe River Cruises has been cruising and exploring the Iconic River Shannon and breath-taking Lough Derg since 1991.

James Whelan started with a small open lake boat in 1991 bringing groups of four people on the River Shannon and Lough Derg. In 1999 a 12-seater passenger boat was purchased. This proved to be very successful and the following year a new 50-seater passenger boat called the “Spirit of Killaloe” was acquired. Now with his family Aoife, Finn and Eoin they lengthened the Spirit of Killaloe to accommodate eighty passengers. “We increased the available deck space by fifty percent, increased our passenger capacity from fifty passengers to eighty and improved access significantly. The additional interior and exterior seating and improved facilities on board, adds to the customer experience.”
